josh

Josh Warren, President | jdwarren78@hotmail.com

My formal yoga journey commenced in 2001 at a local gym in Kansas City. Since then, my path has led me through several styles of yoga, including the Iyengar method which I found after moving to Denver in 2007. I received my Iyengar yoga teacher certification in 2013 and have spent extensive time in India working to further deepen my understanding of the practice. As a practicing bridge engineer, I can’t help but appreciate the level of accuracy, detail, and creative use of props found in the Iyengar system. More importantly though, I appreciates the profound level of self-awareness that continues to develop as I practice the method. I am deeply grateful for all the teachers who’ve inspired me to keep growing and learning and am honored to share those teachings through weekly classes and my role as president of IMIYA.

Brad

Brad Denning, Vice President | sbzdenning@comcast.net

Brad has been practicing Iyengar Yoga in Colorado for over a decade, initially at Park Hill Yoga and then the Iyengar Yoga Center of Denver. A devoted Iyengar student, he initially sought yoga to rehabilitate various injuries, including cervical trauma that caused the partial paralysis of his left the arm and shoulder. Surgery corrected the nerve impingement, but he attributes his flexibility and continued health to this mindful yoga and its highly qualified Iyengar instructors. He is impressed with the holistic results from the precise alignment, sequencing, and philosophy offered in the Iyengar tradition. Inspired by those results, and his Iyengar teachers, he became a Certified Iyengar Instructor. Participating in IMIYA is a natural transition to serve the greater Iyengar community and help others realize their own journey.

naomi rabinowitz

Naomi Rabinowitz, Secretary | nrabinowitz@i-2000.com

Naomi Rabinowitz MD, LAc, a retired physician and semi-retired acupuncturist, has been a devoted student of Iyengar yoga since 2000. After a life-time of dancing that included years as a competitive ballroom dancer in New York City, she found herself suddenly unable to walk. Severe degenerative arthritis of the hips was diagnosed. Iyengar yoga provided her with a way to keep moving - and to keep body and spirit together - before, during and after bilateral hip replacements (2003 and 2007). She attributes her excellent mobility, and generally upbeat attitude, to her daily yoga practice.

paige

Paige Noon, Regional Representative | paige.noon@gmail.com

I was introduced to yoga when I turned 50 years old. I began studying in Fort Collins with Iyengar teacher Cathy Wright. At 53 I traveled to India for a sabbatical with my husband and by serendipity stumbled upon master Iyengar teachers. I studied at Yog-ganga Yoga Centre with Swati and Rajiv Chanchani, for two months that year and have returned time and time again over the past 14 years. The Chanchanis were the first teachers to show me the breadth and depth of yoga. Both my body and my mind began to change because of the practice and I was captivated by the subject. It was the spiritual aspects of yoga that really drew me in.
In 2013 I traveled to Pune, India to the Iyengar Institute. In the fall of 2015 I passed the Introductory I and II combined assessment.
I teach yoga to share the practice with others so that they may benefit as I have. My greatest joy is to see yoga become an integral part of a new student’s life. I believe it transforms people from the inside out and the outside in.
